For those just getting started in the binary options, one of the first steps is to gain familiarity with some of the more commonly traded currencies codes and their popular uses in not only the forex market but in general as well.
This is a list of global currencies and the three-character currency codes that we have found are generally used to represent them in binary options.
Currency codes are composed of a country’s two-character Internet country code plus a third character denoting the currency unit. For example, the Canadian Dollar code (CAD) is made up of Canada’s Internet code (“CA”) plus a currency designator (“D”).
The purpose of this code is to be completely universal with each currency given a unique 3-letter code. These codes are easily identifiable by humans and computers alike. Examples of this are AUD, the Australian Dollar and JPY, the Japanese Yen.
